David J. Goerig

David J. Goerig is a senior scientist/project manager for Davey Resource Group’s Environmental Consulting team. He has more than 30 years of professional experience in natural resource education and project management in natural areas. Prior to his work at Davey, he served as an Agricultural/Natural Resource Extension Educator with The Ohio State University and was instrumental in developing the OSU Certified Volunteer Naturalist Program for Ohio.

He is a past board chairman of the Columbiana County Park District, The Ohio Public Works, Natural Resource Assistance Council, District 6 and District 14 Chair/Advisor, and Charter member of the Great Ohio Lake-to-River Greenway Coalition. His leadership and project management vision were essential in the development of the Little Beaver Creek Greenway trail.  He currently serves in an advisory capacity to the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center, Landscape and Environmental Design program.

David holds a Master of Education degree from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from The Ohio State University. He resides in Salem township, Columbiana county with his wife Elizabeth.
