Pollinator Workshop for Land Managers

July 17 @ 10:15 am - 12:15 pm

Free

There are often questions about what management practices are best for maintaining public areas for people and for wildlife. Recently, the significance of managing lands for pollinators has become an important issue for land supervisors, managers, farmers and communities

Western Reserve Land Conservancy is presenting a program to land managers in Lorain County about managing natural areas, parks, reservoirs and other lands for pollinator habitat.

Denise R. Ellsworth will be the presenter. Denise is the Program Director, Honeybee and Native Pollinator Education at Ohio State Department of Entomology. Denise directs the honey bee and native pollinator education program through the Ohio State University Department of Entomology on the Wooster campus. In this outreach position, Denise supports and teaches beekeepers, farmers, gardeners and others across the state through a variety of workshops, webinars, written materials and electronic resources. Denise is an educator in many areas of entomology and horticulture, including plant pests, integrated pest management, plant identification, and botany. Denise’s area of emphasis includes bee health and integrated pest management, pollinator identification, conservation and habitat enhancement,

The program is free and open to the public.
