Hike at Morgan Preserve

June 13 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm

We are pleased to bring back our Vibrant Places tour series in 2018! Experience the Land Conservancy’s work first hand by hiking new trails, connecting with family farmers, and exploring cherished keystone properties. Tours are reserved for current Land Conservancy donors.

Join us for the first hike of the year at Morgan Preserve! The 504-acre preserve, which contains wetlands and forests, was created when The Burton D. Morgan Foundation and The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation worked with Western Reserve Land Conservancy to preserve the land for Portage Park District. The property is home to several rare and endangered species, including the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Hermit Thrush, and Least Flycatcher, to name a few.

Natural Areas Steward, Bob Lange, of Portage Park District will lead us on a hike exploring vernal pools, a beaver wetland, and a blueberry bog.

The hike will involve walking on the road and traveling off trails through the woods but will not include difficult terrain.
