About our Field Trip Leaders
Judy Semroc is a regional field biologist and naturalist. She has co-authored two natural history guides, Dragonflies & Damselflies of Northeast Ohio and Goldenrods of Northeast Ohio. Judy is the founder of Chrysalis in Time‚ the first Ohio chapter of the North American Butterfly Association (NABA), and serves on the board of the Ohio Bluebird Society & Ohio Ornithological Society’s Conservation Committee.
Greg Lipps is the Amphibian & Reptile Conservation Coordinator through Ohio State University’s Ohio Biodiversity Conservation Partnership with the Ohio Division of Wildlife. Current projects include: implementing the Ohio Conservation Plan for the Eastern Hellbender; surveying, monitoring, and identifying conservation opportunities for the Eastern Massasauga; and, developing conservation plans for Ohio species of conservation concern.
Brian Zimmerman is a research associate at the Ohio State University School of Environment and Natural Resources. Brian has a B.S. in Water Resources and Environmental Biology from The Ohio State University with a focus on ecology and identification of non-game fish. He loves to introduce people to the diversity of Ohio’s native fish species. In 2019, he and Dan Rice co-authored A Naturalist’s Guide to the Fishes of Ohio.
