Blue Heron Preserve Birding Hike

March 11 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Join Western Reserve Land Conservancy for an exclusive birding and photography hike at Blue Heron Preserve. Formerly a sand and gravel quarry, the Land Conservancy is in the process of reclaiming and transforming this 106-acre property into a spectacular nature preserve. Located within the Cuyahoga River watershed, the property contains a 27-acre high-quality wetland that hosts a variety of native species as well as an open water wetland that was formed by glacial activity. The property also contains hemlock swamp habitat, one of the only known locations of this habitat type in Geauga County. Join Land Conservancy staff and a guide for unique opportunity to see both migrating waterfowl and local songbirds alike and enjoy peak season for neotropical migrants.
