Art Show by Julie Cook

July 14 @ 8:30 am - September 20 @ 5:00 pm

Julie Cook is a self-taught painter and started out faux painting. Using acrylics and other items to add texture, she discovered that another way to express the energy and ideas within  is to paint on canvas. Her tools include brushes, sponges, plastic, sticks and more.

Julie lives “out in the country” in Lake County and the beauty around her is her inspiration. She is also inspired by some of her travels (Crops From Up High & Wang Pha Memories are examples). Many of Julie’s pieces are from her imagination and life experiences. By viewing Julie’s paintings you can tell she loves to experiment with different techniques and ideas.

A portion of the sale of each painting is sent to an organization that helps at-risk children on the Thailand/Burma border. “By painting, I feel I making a difference in lives of children but also hope to bring peace, joy, contentment or a smile to those that see my work,” she noted.

Cook’s work is on display at the Western Reserve Land Conservancy Conservation Center now through September 20, 2017. The Land Conservancy’s Conservation Center is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
