We welcome and appreciate your help.

VolunteerWestern Reserve Land Conservancy has many opportunities to volunteer and carry out our mission. If you enjoy being outside, some dirty work, and a lot of fun, here are some opportunities to add to your calendar:

Adam’s and Haley’s Run Cleanup

Join us in April to remove invasive species, clean up trash along streams, and clean up an urban park! This project is part of the Great American Clean Up! And the annual Clean Up Akron Month! Every year more than 50 volunteers come together to provide important stewardship for these great trails. Registration will be available soon!

Grand River Cleanup

Help us keep the wild and scenic Grand River in Ashtabula and Lake Counties clean and pristine! We will be hiking local parks and, weather permitting, canoeing the river, to gather unwanted waste. This is a very unique project where you never know what you will find in the river! We have gathered tires, bottles, and even a mattress last year! This year we will hold the 19th annual cleanup on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Sherwick Tree Steward Training Program and Tree Plantings

Holden Forests & Gardens and Western Reserve Land Conservancy have partnered to provide Sherwick Tree Steward Trainings where citizens learn how to plant, care for, and maintain trees. Training residents to maintain existing and newly planted trees is critical to the success of the Cleveland Tree Plan and our collective reforestation work. Tree steward training is a four-part series that are put on at different times of the year. For all tree steward opportunities visit: https://www.wrlandconservancy.org/events/category/tree-steward/.
