Rich Cochran

President, Chief Executive Officer

Rich is a nationally recognized conservationist who had been Chagrin River Land Conservancy’s only executive director for 10 years when CRLC and seven other northern Ohio land trusts merged to form Western Reserve Land Conservancy (the Land Conservancy) in 2006. At that time, he was appointed president and chief executive officer of the Land Conservancy.

Rich works in many areas including fundraising, real estate transactions, public speaking, strategic planning, corporate management, and finance.

Rich has presented at numerous National Land Conservation Conferences (also known as Rally) hosted by the Land Trust Alliance and other conferences. He is a graduate of Middlebury College and did graduate work at the University of Vermont School of Natural Resources. He is a member of the Hiram College Garfield Society, Young Presidents’ Organization and a founder of Chagrin River Watershed Partners. Rich is an alumnus of Leadership Cleveland and has served on numerous boards of directors. He lives in Shaker Heights with his wife, his daughters, and two dogs.
