ever green ever blue

A Fabulous Evening at the Lake House

More than 590 people attended the seventh annual EverGreen EverBlue on September 10 at The Lake House in Hunting Valley. The setting for this year’s EverGreen EverBlue was a private preserve in the heart of Hunting Valley.  This preserve is a one-of-a-kind conservation development surrounded by scenic meadows, a beautiful lake and conserved land.

EverGreen EverBlue is the largest benefit on behalf of the nonprofit Land Conservancy, which preserves natural resources, working lands and open space throughout northern Ohio. tentlandscape

More than half of the EverGreen EverBlue guests also purchased special tickets to a prelude party that included a tour of Brian and Cheryl Coughlin’s custom Tony Paskevich-designed home. The celebration of conservation included welcoming remarks by Bill Mulligan, chairman of the Land Conservancy Board of Trustees, and President/CEO Richard Cochran, who thanked supporters for helping preserve "special places" in the Western Reserve.

This year’s EverGreen EverBlue was an Asian theme inspired by the beautiful willow gracing the lake and complimented by beautiful lanterns acquired by a special friend who acquired them oversees.  The beautiful sounds of an Asian Harp greeted guests at the prelude party and the beat of a gong called the guests to dinner. The meal was started with a salad of bib lettuce, almonds and an orange-miso vinaigrette. Garlic and ginger braised short ribs with seared shiitake mushrooms and whipped root vegetables completed the main course.

The funds raised for the nonprofit Land Conservancy through the Paddles for Preservation auction held at the event and corporate support. This will help the Land Conservancy preserve at least 250 acres throughout the region.

Western Reserve Land Conservancy seeks to preserve the scenic beauty, rural character and natural resources of northern Ohio. The Land Conservancy has so far protected more than 350 properties and more than 22,700 acres.
