Description:
Did you know that gold has been
found in the Vermilion River? Yes, the precious metal has been pulled
from the stream. Now you can try your hand at panning for gold in the river on
when Western Reserve Land Conservancy and its
Firelands chapter hosts a special event at the Lorain County Metro Parks
Vermilion River Reservation.
Grant Thompson, Lorain County Metro Parks naturalist
and chair of our Firelands chapter, will serve as our gold-panning guide.
Participants will
meet by the bridge on the Mill Hollow side of the river. Please wear shoes that
you don’t mind getting wet. Come prepared to learn a little bit about the river,
have fun and maybe get lucky.
The event is free and open to the public.
Please RSVP to kpilacky@wrlc.cc or call (440) 774-4226.
