Pianist Jean Stell shares her passion for the land.

Jean Stell, a critically acclaimed pianist who has performed with such powerhouses as the Boston Symphony and the Cleveland Orchestra, wanted to permanently protect the 78-acre Ashland County tract she and her late husband, Ed, had purchased in the 1970s. Stell wanted to work with a local conservation group that shared her passion for land.learn more

Family chooses to preserve a farm

Evelyn Frohring keeps traditions alive.

Evelyn Frohring grew up on a Newbury Township farm that her parents received as a wedding gift in 1947. Today, customers still come there to buy sweet corn and eggs on the honor system. The system works well, Frohring says, because people love what they get.
